Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance is a network of all independent advocacy organisations in Scotland; contact for organisations in each area of Scotland, and information about advocacy.

Advocacy resource exchange is an English national resource agency for advocacy and has publications, training materials and a lot of information about advocacy.

Scottish Consortium of Learning Disability is a consortium of learning disability organisations; provides training and information.

People First is a self advocacy organisation run for and by people with learning disabilities.

The Office of the Public Guardian has a general function to supervise those individuals who have been appointed to manage the financial affairs of an adult who lacks the capacity to do so for themselves.


The Mental Welfare Commission works to safeguard the rights and welfare of everyone with a mental illness, learning disability or other mental disorder. 

The Equality and Human Rights Commission champions equality and human rights for all, working to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.
